Adare Manor from Shannon Airport
Adare Manor from Shannon Airport is a short run: through the Limerick area, then on to Adare along the N21. Most of the time you will spend on event days is not on this road. It is in the last few kilometres, where traffic management will apply.
- Landing on 16 or 17 September: expect heavier traffic around Limerick than usual.
- Landing earlier in the week: the roads should be easier, and you can settle into your hotel before the crowds build.
- Driving yourself: do not head to the venue itself. Go to your hotel first, then use the official transport.
Getting to Adare Manor on match days
Getting to Adare Manor means using one of three official routes, because there is no spectator parking on site. The organisers say Park & Ride is paid and can be pre-booked, and details will go to successful ticket buyers. Council planning documents have named areas such as Patrickswell and Croagh for car parks, but the final sites will come from the organisers.
| Option | Starts from | Time to the venue | Good to know |
| Park & Ride (East) | Car park east of Adare | 20 to 30 minutes by shuttle bus | Paid, pre-book |

Where to stay for the Ryder Cup
Rooms near Adare will go early, so pick a base by how much travelling you are happy to do each day.
- Limerick city: the best balance of rooms, restaurants and rail links.
- Adare and nearby villages: closest to the course, but limited rooms.
- Shannon, Ennis and Clare: easy for airport days and a good base if you also want to play a links course.
- Galway, Killarney or Cork: workable by train or car, but allow a much earlier start and a later return.
The organisers list accommodation options on the official Ryder Cup website. If you are also planning rounds of your own, our guide to planning a golf trip to the west of Ireland shows how to group courses by area.
Plan your transport day by day
| Day | What to plan |
| Arrival day | Airport to hotel. Keep it free of long drives. |
| 13 to 16 September | Build-up days. Transport planners expect lower demand than on match days, if your ticket covers them. |
| Friday 17 September | Book your Park & Ride slot or train ahead. Leave early and allow a buffer. |
| Saturday 18 September | Same routine. Plan the evening return, as many people will leave at the same time. |
| Sunday 19 September | Final day. Check out and pack the night before. Avoid a same-evening flight home. |
| Day after | Hotel to airport. Keep a relaxed margin before check-in. |
Where a private driver helps
A chauffeur cannot change the rules at the venue, but it can take the stress out of everything around them.
- Airport pickup at Shannon, Dublin, Cork or Kerry, with flight tracking and a meet and greet.
- Hotel to your Park & Ride site or rail station in the morning, and a clean pickup point in the evening.
- Space for groups and golf bags, from a V-Class to a Sprinter van.
- Transfers to other courses before or after tournament week.
Rules for private vehicle drop-off near the venue have not been published yet. We will update this guide when they are. To plan ahead, send your dates, airport and group size through our online booking form.
Practical tips before you travel
- Book flights and rooms only after you have a ticket and a transport plan.
- Save your ticket and transport booking offline. Mobile signal can be slow in a crowd.
- Agree a meeting point with your group in case you get separated.
- Pack waterproofs and comfortable shoes. September weather in the west changes quickly.
- Check the official Ryder Cup transport page again a month before you travel, as details may change.
